Community Science Meet-up in Little River

Join us for an afternoon at Little River, a pocket of natural beauty within one of Windsor’s urban neighbourhoods. Once significantly altered in the early 1980s, when sections were straightened and turned into a drainage ditch, Little River has since been restored thanks to decades of dedication by educators, students, and local organizations, like the Little River Enhancement Group, Essex Region Conservation Authority, and Detroit River Canadian Cleanup.

We will visit two to three key sites along this revitalized watershed to collect our monthly water quality measurements. We will be on the lookout for local wildlife that serve as indicator species for river and stream health. No prior experience with science or ecology is needed, we will provide training, equipment, and interpretation.
